โIt's this sort of composition and subject matter that l'm seeing define a new approach by artists in Africa using technology to create digital art that defines a break from present #contemporaryafricanart. That it's sold as an #nft is irrelevant to the argument that a new art is coming out of Africa and Diaspora. It breaks with trend for figurative art and flat black portraits that is a dominant theme. It can exist in a digital frame independently on the wall as a relevant in -depth artistic expression. While the art establishment is arguing about the future of NFTs I don't see that as having any bearing on a work like this. Africa is largely cut off from the vast commercial gallery system in the West. Artists have found a solution with marketing their work by a different channel. In fact an NFT gives it permanence. I am hoping collectors turn their eye to this art form beyond it going in a wallet. If @jeffkoons can sell ballon dogs that are hungrily pursued often as trophies for an art collection then it's timely to think of elevating this art to its rightful place on a wall.โ - @artclutch
