@SwerveMonroe@gbrl_dick@dom__inic Something that gets lost in translation: if you only look for common fare in central London and end up at dishoom of course you will have this opinion about its cuisine. Go elsewhere/know where to look and it becomes an S tier city
@SwerveMonroe@gbrl_dick@dom__inic You need to actually go to the best in class destinations. It should be obvious to anyone that they are in the same league, but the fundamentals of the London scene look better
@ry_paddy I can understand people having issues with London but complaining about the food is such a huge self-tell that you only visited central London for a few days, or perhaps have never even been
@SwerveMonroe@gbrl_dick@dom__inic London NYC have been been neck and neck for some time. These last few years London clearly the better innovator and attracts more talent.
@gbrl_dick@dom__inic Because they’re not comparable. Austin does sensational common fare that you could rarely find in London. London restaurants and fine dining scene is better at attracting chefs, fields more Michelin stars, and by sheer quality and options is leaps and bounds beyond US cities
@fieldinghope You’re saying the sublime - perfected over millennia in the maternal sanctity of the holy Catholic Church - continues to be a source of inspiration for young whyte boys? I’m hearing this for the first time
@johndotwills@PYeerk The academic naïveté required to describe a political and economic theory as “disproven” is above that of even a first year undergraduate. What even are the conditions being met here?
@RepealTCPA1947 It is impossible to articulate a vision of human dignity without arriving at something very strongly resembling Catholic metaphysics and social teaching. Do with this information what you will
Love all the euphemistic tutting about hyperpolitics on here by people whose issue is clearly that it doesn’t do intersectional kumbaya-prose and makes a few references here and there that make them feel icky.
Insufferably wet
@CartoonsHateHer But in a culture that troubles possessiveness, what’s is the difference between the two, apart from sex viewed in the most mechanical way ? (Bad sex vs face masks)
@CartoonsHateHer Something missing from a lot of dating calculus chat is that romance is also a thing unto itself. Specifically, possessiveness is not essential to platonic friendships like it is romantic relationships
Something about the need to have takes on xitter producing this vague milquetoast le musings that seek more to disarm the reader than say anything serious
something fascinating about europe is how nerfed the cities are. you walk around a european city and just feel like nothing can hurt you. like if a tram hit you it would bounce right off. makes it very hard to take europeans seriously. its like they live in a little enclosure
@Stsantek I wanted you to know Stella if I was a woke TikTok zoomer I would vote labour for you. As it stands the reform candidate on the ballot has a name that sounds a bit like Keir Starmer, which is the world spirit calling out to me to make Britain great again
