Hideo Kojima says he’s no longer interested in AI-generated art and storytelling.
“Maybe AI could create art, but while I’m alive, I don’t think I’ll see it. I’m not interested in it.” He added that younger generations will decide how AI is used.
Kojima isn’t against AI entirely. He distinguishes between AI creating stories or artwork and using AI as a tool to improve games.
He has previously said he’s interested in AI that can make enemies smarter, adapt gameplay to players, and handle repetitive tasks.
His comments come after he appeared in Prada’s AI-generated “Satellites II” campaign with filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, which led some fans to question his views.
Over the years, Kojima has repeatedly said human creativity should remain at the heart of game development. While he believes AI can be useful behind the scenes, he doesn’t see it replacing creators.
