女性が「お姫様」に憧れ続けた結果「萌え」分野に興味を持つことに対し、男性が「かっこいい男キャラ」を描き続ける人が少なく見える理由は、たぶん幼少期の憧れの方向性の違いも関係している気がします。

もちろん男性でも魅力的な男性キャラを描く人はたくさんいます。

ただ、男児の憧れって女児の「自分が着飾った理想の姿になる」という方向とは少し違って、ロボット・乗り物・怪獣・変身ヒーローみたいな「人間を超えた力を持つ存在になる」に向かいやすい印象があります。

つまり「かっこいい男性になりたい」より「圧倒的な力を持つ存在になりたい」。

だから男性キャラを描く場合も、顔や服装の美しさより、強さ・能力・技術・生き様みたいな部分への憧れとして出やすいのかもしれないのかなぁと。◜⩊◝

NOTHING, I repeat: NOTHING is worse than getting attached to a rom-com anime where you realize after 10 episodes that the slowburn tension is actually that annoying cliché of offering nonsense reasons for the characters to self sabotage being together

I swear 99% of slowburn romances would end in one episode if the main characters just had an honest conversation without getting interrupted

@Voyenik It's why there's so much teen romance that goes beyond regions (anime, YA novels, etc.). It turns out the one you should get married to is the one you saw everyday for hours, go to their house and see how they live, etc. To see how you both lived without the context of romance.

@Voyenik It's also because we didn't have as much easy travel. You'd grow up with your age group, get to know who you do and don't like, and get married going into adulthood instead of moving of to college to "find yourself" with a bunch of new strangers.
