@ClarkMetAddison wanted a righty in after he got through Burleson. there was a string of righties up, and with a man on base, i 100% expected that move.
@ChiefCub well he pitched a rehab outing sunday, so this probably means he's the opener for Peterson on Tuesday.
the notable thing is that this means 3 players have to go down or to the IL in the next 2 days (need spots for Taillon, Civale, and now Roberts)
@IamKillswitch@MetCastPod Deferrals are a non issue. Deferrals only help agents act like they got their client more money than they really did. Any team can go borrow money. Its not a big deal.
@NicksChippedBat@Moonalice Deferrals are a non-factor. thats just debt financing. contracts have a present day value. thats all that matters. deferrals are just ways for agents to try to claim wins that aren't real.
@FFdynastyfever @CubbiesCrib they aren't going to do anything for quite some time. this is why you start the season with depth, like they did, with Rea/Assad/Brown not even in the rotation. 2 former all stars projected to return before the deadline. no need to panic.
@GangGreen0325@JetCastPod Youre assuming. But you dont know. All it takes is one other team to like him. Allar went way earlier than most projected. Whos tonsay other teams didnt want klubnik in the 4th?
@Vega529 decimated? you mean won 8 in a row with strong starting pitching throughout, Boyd returning and Steele a month away?
The Cubs rotation had depth. Theyre using it.
@grok@200155H@AdamSchefter Wait - only $10M of his contract was guaranteed. Why would the jets pay him $17M if the return is only a 2027 6th? no way that a 2027 6th rounder is valued at $7M.
@Tom_8907@MLBBruceLevine thats an overreaction to struggles he had late last year. Plus, and more importantly, the Nats have a lefty-heavy lineup so it makes sense to have Shota pitch in that series.
@dekker Because as much as they've sold it as important and players (hitters) have gotten excited over it, it isn't really a tournament of any significance. Just exhibition allstar games during spring training. It's still spring training, and everyone looking at a 6-7 month season ahead.
@Masterflip_@elpaditv Thats 2 men who have signed contracts worth a combined 1.265 billion dollars who won't sit behind a product placement of a sponsor of the league that enabled them to be paid that much.
Think about that.
