@TheNovaPlayss 5. I think it’s a nice way to complete John’s arc. He chooses to walk back into that house on his own terms, just like he chooses to become an independent Lantern on his own terms. It’s not ‘going backwards,’ it’s finally choosing his own path.
Im convinced some of you didn’t fully watch lanterns or you watch tv shows while on your phones. That’s the only explanation for some of these surface level takes
@ChespasB@RyoKaito5 ‘It didn’t work for me’ is fair. ‘The show fails to convey generational handoff or legacy’ is just false. Those ideas are built into Hal and John’s entire arc. You not connecting with the execution doesn’t erase what the show is actually doing.
No les importa las historias
Les importan las escenas post créditos y los cameo que harán teaser de otras post créditos y otros cameos
El mcu les frito el cerebro
You didn’t establish that the themes weren’t woven into the plot; you just asserted it because you didn’t like how they were handled. “Not high art,” “hodgepodge,” and “stumbled along” are all judgments. The actual connective tissue — fear, legacy, trauma, identity, consequence
@DamienNZ@iamNicoo0 Reading all three together makes this even funnier. You call it “not high art,” a “hodgepodge,” say the plot “stumbled,” then admit “it’s just a preference” before immediately claiming there’s “less artistic value & rigor” and pointing to “the numbers.”That’s not objectivity.
Funny thing is, even your fake ‘consensus = artistic value’ framework doesn’t help you. Lanterns had one of HBO Max’s biggest premieres and strong critical reception. So apparently the numbers only count when they agree with you
