DJ Akademiks briefly reacted to a video that resurfaced online over the weekend showing a young Beyoncé speaking with Michael Jackson during what appears to be a 2001 studio session.

In the footage, an older man can be heard offering Beyoncé a seat on his lap before putting Michael Jackson on speakerphone so she could speak with him about a music project.

The clip has sparked discussion online, with some people questioning the context surrounding the interaction.

Akademiks, however, said he wasn’t interested in creating conspiracy theories based solely on the footage.

“Beyoncé, an amazing and beautiful girl. Not going to make up conspiracy theories about whatever.”

Akademiks suggested that Beyoncé was a young artist trying to establish herself in the music industry at the time and acknowledged that young artists can potentially find themselves in uncomfortable or complicated situations while trying to advance their careers.
