While I visited one of my favorite Stockholm churches (St. Jakob) today I came to think about how some of you might wonder how I connect sensuality and body positive clothing style with Christian faith: One thing that I like about Christianity is that there are no clothing rules. We are free to dress anyway we want to. Christians (and people of other religions too) who claim that people must dress modest to show modesty is legalistic, and they have missed the meaning of where modesty comes from. Modesty is the same thing as being kind, according to my faith. 🙏🏼 Modesty and kindness has nothing to do with clothes. It’s what’s in the heart and soul that matters when it comes to morality and how that complies in meetings with others. It’s okay to wanna look good, yes even look sexy if you’re proud of your body. It’s not the same as lewdness, which is deliberate attempts (no matter what clothes you might wear) to wanna entice someone you know you really shouldn’t have sex with (abuse and cheating is a no-no).
Many Christians for many years have argued that sexiness and sensuality is bad because they say it leads to sexual immorality. But sex is not a bad thing as long as it’s consensual between adults and it’s not infidelity.
I think we should celebrate life while we’re here, and sensuality and sexiness is a part of that. The body should be celebrated and taken good care of (training is important not only for health but also for appearance if you ask me, at least as long as we are capable of doing it) and - if you want to - show off your body with pride! It’s okay to be physically boastful as long as you treat others well. 😉 It’s all good and fun, and clothing is great for that sensual celebration. Beautiful people - both on the outside AND inside - make the world more beautiful. That’s my thoughts. 😗💪🏼
