Furthermore had asthma data been shared by GPs years ago, (and acted upon by the NHS), when I was Data lead for the NHSE asthma transformation programme … we may not be seeing the tragic preventable child asthma deaths every month in England today!!
In addition to @carloprina ‘s comment the BMA is misguided in their reason for not sharing data for “.. health service planning carried out by government agencies or local NHS organisations�� .. how else should care allocation be planned?
@TheBMA I hope you can robustly ensure this is not misinterpreted as a barrier to sharing data across shared care records with secondary care- an innovation which has prevented harm on many occasions that I have seen myself including repeated investigation or incorrect treatment
