The Bears are getting a billion for the Hammond stadium. That area is not getting that kind of value back.

@MSRterps @cg_410 The team existing by itself is not enough for all these bars to be getting more business than average, it has to also be near the stadium so that people can pregame and walk. Max’s Taphouse in Fell’s Point doesn’t make substantially more from the presence of the Baltimore Ravens.

@MSRterps @cg_410 Example: when’s the last time you were going to an Orioles or Ravens game and thought “Oh boy! Let’s go to Jimmy’s Famous Seafood or Pratt Street Ale House as well as the game!”? The stadiums already sell food and drink so there’s not exactly an incentive to go to a restaurant.
