Damian Casey - Tyrone's No. 1
Remembering Damian and his family today on his 4th anniversary. What he did for Tyrone hurling on and off the field will remain unsurpassed.
Thanks Damian.
This weekend is mental and a bit of a disaster from a promotional point of view for all competitions.
Considering the football provincials & All Ireland series are going so well, the only solution i see to find space in the calendar is tweaking the league
Split each division into 2 groups of 4 round robins. Top 2 in each group teams play the semi finals, bottom 2 relegation semis
They did this in 2021 during Covid.
League would be 5 rounds rather than the 8 we currently have
Schedule gets 3 weekends to breath - this weekend would only be Tailteann & Hurling for example.
Thoughts?
Banks close at 4 pm. Appointments run from 9-5. Shops open from 9-5. I work 9-5 in an office. Everyone is only available when I'm not. I can't go to your shop, the bank, or book anything without taking time off work.
Why did we design society like this ??
My dad retired at 61.
Union pension.
House paid off years ago.
Medicare coming soon.
Social Security locked in.
At dinner he told me people my age just need to “budget better.”
I make $74k a year.
My rent is $2,050.
I’ve got maybe $3,500 saved after bills.
I just nodded and passed the potatoes.
But what I wanted to say was:
Your retirement existed because companies still offered pensions.
Your Social Security works because my generation keeps paying into it.
Your home doubled in value while mine feels permanently out of reach.
You didn’t crack some secret code.
You were born into an economy that hadn’t pulled the ladder up yet.
Tyrone Fixtures Analyst Conor Sally has expressed serious misgivings over the changing of the Division One schedule in an email circulated to clubs. Some of the more pertinent extracts are posted below:
Can never understand why they do these draws before the provincial finals
Could have a scenario where a county gets drawn against Donegal if they win but Cavan if they lose
Don't think any side would go out and lose on purpose but it does devalue the finals a little https://t.co/4gJMmsO4GE
Tyrone are firmly on course for a third Ulster U20 title in as many years. Monaghan led by 0-6 to 0-1 early on - Tyrone have now completely turned the screw and lead 3-11 to 0-11 at the break.
@malmcmullan@ailbeoreilly Pay at the gate is the simple solution. Also lots of games now on TV. Another thing paid players like Derry City v Shamrock Rover in Celtic Park only £10 admission.Same ground for Derrys GAA home games. £5 into club games £10 into county games is more than enough.
Fifty has a point... 50 Cent says, "My son Marquise is 27 and still asking for child support.
I give him $10,800 monthly, but he says it's not enough." "Success cost me my relationship with Marquise.
At 27, he should be ashamed to ask for child support. He thinks being 50 Cent's son means he doesn't have to work.
I offered to set up a business for him to earn $1 million a month, but he refused. He has an entitlement mentality, thinking my money is his.
It hurts to see him so irresponsible. I keep saying this publicly, hoping he'll be ashamed and start working. No matter how rich you are, never let your kids feel your money belongs to them."
Cost of sacking Liam Rosenior: £24m
Cost of buying Sheffield Wednesday: £20m
When sacking a manager costs more than a club in the Championship, it's probably time to start addressing those financial oblivion questions in football.
For every $5 a barrel that oil went up, petrol went up what 3p a litre INSTANTLY on every single forecourt.
Oil price went - down - SIXTEEN PERCENT in the last 24 hours.
Did you see a single petrol station lower their price today? Did you fuck.
Money grabbing bastards
The last two winners of the U20 player of the year McElholm & O'Hare are both from Tyrone
McElholm on the bench today and O'Hare not in the panel
Former footballer of the year McGeary also on the bench
Morgan not on the panel + arguably their best player McKernan on the bench
My father is on his last breath in the hospital:
When my mother asked him whether he regretted anything?
I thought he would say:
Not spending time with family
Earning less money
Not owning a single house
But what he said silenced my mom and me for an hour:
@kyleconey90 Replace "AFL" with "County Boards" and reframe discussion as clubs who nurture and develop players are now barely seeing them turn out for them when they are selected for county
I haven’t listened to all of this, but I strongly disagree with the take. Clubs don’t deserve any compensation whatsoever. How can an amateur organization possibly determine what someone is “worth”?
The only people who should have any say in that are Kobe and his family.
