BlockChat AMA Summary - June 12th 

1. $BCD IS GOING MULTI-CHAIN 📈

$BCD is going multi-chain and our first chain is @base. Our original goal remains the same - to build a platform that changes the way founders and communities can interact with one another. Pushing towards this goal means making ourselves available to everyone, no matter what blockchain they call home. 

For any of our OG fans - please note that we are not leaving @MetisL2 , just setting up on other chains using the Metis/BCD token. Essentially its our “home token” that we use to bridge to other chains in the future.

How it works:

We will be using a new technology called xERC20 by @EverclearOrg - Deploy crosschain native tokens with zero slippage, perfect fungibility, and granular risk settings.

Just like turning ETH into WETH, xERC20 uses a "Lockbox" (an immutable contract) that wraps tokens 1:1 for xERC20.

A user sends Metis/BCD to the lockbox and “holds” the Metis/BCD tokens. On the Base side, the user received freshly minted BCD on Base.

There is "new" supply being minted in replacement of the Locked BCD, this method is called Lock & Mint.

Similar to OFT on Layer Zero. (Omnichain Fungible Token) The process is simple and will be using the bridge from Connext with a very clean and easy to use UI. 

⚠️Please note; we do not have a live token on Base or a bridge yet, DO NOT buy anything on base that says they are $BCD. An announcement will be made through our official Telegram channel once the new token is live. ⚠️

2. NEW TEAM MEMBER!

We have recruited a new team member to help with community engagement and network growth. Jacob Breadnam - Web3 Community Engagement Specialist. Jacob has years of experience in building communities and is extremely excited to be part of BlockChat. During the AMA, Jacob hinted at some potential initiatives over the next few months, including the development of a "founder mastermind" program that will allow us to give back to the early founders that support BlockChat's growth.
