We we have been talking about #peace and what peace means to us. We read @toddparr “The Peace Book” and Karen Katz’s “Can You Say Peace?” I 💗 my #kindergarten Ss ideas of what ✌️ peace is #tdsb@RolphRoadSchool
It’s #TreatiesRecognitionWeek.
Across the TDSB, we recognize the agreements that shape our province and bring awareness to Treaty rights and relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. #TreatyON@UIEC_tdsb
We read “Creepy Carrots” & Ss made their own creepy carrots & were tasked with designing a fence to contain their carrots just like in the book. Some Ss took it a step further & add guards/a roof to be sure their 🥕 didn’t escape. Thanks for the inspiration @MrsMacsKinders #tdsb
Exploring spooky 👻 letters in #kindergarten this week as we used bones 🦴 of different sizes to make letters. Ss then write the letter and count how many bones were used. Bone letter templates from abcdeelearning on TPT. #literacy#math#earlyyears#tdsb#handsonlearning
Our #poem this week was “The Five Little Pumpkins 🎃” so it only made sense to give the Ss the STEM challenge of building a gate for the five little pumpkins. #kindergarten#tdsb@RolphRoadSchool#earlyyears
We made it rain with our rain 🌧 cloud in a jar #experiment. #kindergarten Ss were fascinated watching “rain” trickle down the side of our jar after I filled the jar with hot water and placed a plate of ice cubes on top. #inquiry#tdsb#earlyyears
Thank you to all the incredible ECEs that I have had the pleasure of co-teaching with including @WitcherECE & @klearnathon. You have taught me so much about #EarlyChildhood education. You are amazing educators and I love collaborating with you!#ECEAppreciationDay#tdsb
@MsCR0bins0n @CosmicKidsYoga@TDSB_MHWB@RolphRoadSchool I asked the students bring their own yoga mats to the classroom this year because we have no carpet due to covid. This way everyone has their own safe space.
Our interest in ☔️ rain continues, today students wondered how much rain would fall during the school day. We placed a jar on our window ledge and waited until just before home time to see if #kindergarten Ss #prediction was correct. #inquiry#tdsb#science#earlyyears
