ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha says Zambians should not question the closure of courts, as it is for their own safety.
On Monday, the Lusaka High Court and several judicial complexes countrywide were closed, with armed police officers sealing off the premises, citing security reasons.

GOVT CONFIRMS DEATH OF MUTOTWE KAFWAYA

The Defence and Security Wings have confirmed that Mutotwe Kafwaya, who had been reported missing, was the unidentified man who was fatally wounded during an intelligence-led joint operation in Kabulonga, Lusaka, on August 14, 2026.

The confirmation follows a positive identification of the deceased by his family.

According to the Central Joint Operations Committee, the operation involved several security agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Commission, and was conducted following intelligence gathered after the recovery of K7.3 million in a separate task force operation in Lusaka.

Eleven people were apprehended during the operation and are being held in connection with alleged offences relating to treason and other offences that may emerge from investigations.

The security wings say several firearms, ammunition, tactical equipment and electronic devices were recovered from the premises, with investigations and forensic examinations currently underway.

@tallzedgirl You raise a very important point. For instance a bank can't legally recover a loan against your pension benefit at source i.e your pension scheme or company but once that money hits your account its free game. So the protection offered in this case is ineffective for the worker.
