DISGRACEFUL
There are loud soccer crowds... and then there are Mexico soccer crowds.
Fans inside Mexico's legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City erupted so loudly that they reportedly triggered an earthquake.
The ground movement caused by the celebration was strong enough to be picked up by seismic monitoring equipment as an "artificial seismic signal," according to the New York Post.
The celebration came when Julián Quiñones buried the opening goal in the 22nd minute, sending tens of thousands of fans into a frenzy that literally shook the ground.
Raúl Jiménez added a second goal minutes later to seal the victory.
🚨🤯 NEW: Both goals by Julian Quiñones and Raul Jimenez activated seismic sensors across Mexico City due to the massive celebrations.
Just like in 2018, an 'artificial earthquake' was caused by thousands of fans going crazy. 🏆
