TRACKING MARTIAL EAGLES
Big Life recently supported WRTI, Kenya Bird of Prey Trust, and KWS as they tagged two young Endangered Martial Eagles in Amboseli, helping track movements and protect critical habitat.

#FunFactFriday: the Red-billed quelea is the world’s most numerous wild bird. It can hatch in as little as 9 days and fledge just two weeks later.
These flocks are sweeping across Greater #Amboseli after recent rains — a sign of healthy grasslands for wildlife and livestock.
As Greater Amboseli’s green season gives way to dry-season gold, life is still everywhere: elephants gathering in protected wetlands, grazers spread across open plains, and rangers and communities helping keep this landscape connected and resilient.

“Help! There’s a zebra in my toilet!”
In two days, Big Life rangers rescued two zebras from pit latrines — one adult with help from @KWSKenya vet Dr Kariuki, and one foal.
Both survived because community members called us. Trust saves wildlife.

Hyenas are more than scavengers. They are skilled hunters, disease-fighting cleanup crews, and vital members of healthy ecosystems. This #InternationalHyenaDay, we’re recognizing why these intelligent, misunderstood predators deserve protection too.
When Enkaji Naibor School needed electricity, @energeaglobal and Big Life came together to help. It’s a powerful example of how businesses can support conservation and local communities.
Thank you, Energea, for bringing light and hope.

🌍 #EarthDay
On Save the Elephant Day, we’re celebrating a powerful milestone: since 2018, not a single elephant has been lost to poachers in Big Life’s area of operation. Thanks to our rangers, local communities, and supporters, elephants here have a safer future. #SaveTheElephantDay
THE CAMERA TRAP’S NEMESIS
Opening a camera trap can feel like Christmas morning — or a crime scene. Elephants and baboons destroy 15–20 of ours each year, but these cameras are vital for monitoring wildlife and helping ranger teams protect black rhinos.
Nairrabala’s open plains are full of life. Camera traps recorded elephants, cheetahs, lions, and more. Across 37,500 acres, Big Life’s rangers protect wildlife, support local communities, and reduce conflict. Thanks to Kingspan for making this work possible.
