The medical field needs direct regulatory governance of the standard of care through legislation.
Common-law notions of general and special negligence can no longer keep up.
Even getting a doctor to act as an expert witness for you is becoming difficult.
Regulatory robustness that takes disciplinary action seriously is necessary.
And kill the profession's total autonomy. Take it away!
Let the disciplinary process make use of ordinary people and professionals.

RIVERS YOUTH FOUND 18 YEARS AFTER DISAPPEARANCE
Gospel Kinanee, at 14 years old, left home one night and never returned. His family says their search for him took them to police stations, but to no avail.
His brother says the correctional centre where he has now been found was visited twice during the search.
With no formal trial or access to legal representation, the young Ogoni man, who went missing in 2007, was one of 21 inmates released from the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre when the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi, flagged off the Rivers State Jail Delivery Exercise.
His family named him Gospel Kinanee, but the correctional centre has him in its records as Baridi Sunday.
Gospel Kinanee's mental health is now the subject of litigation.

โThe gods are upset. Appease the gods, and everything will be okay. It has nothing to do with architectural structure. Look at the spiritual side first.โ - Bishop Kwabena Asiamah popularly known as Ajagurajah on recent flooding incidents in Accra
#WHAAAAAAT?
The behaviour of some public officials is extremely difficult to understand.
Can someone explain why a public official would put guests on an aircraft and fly them to Europe or another destination to celebrate his or her birthday?
The practice of taking videos and photographs of these usually extravagant parties and posting them on social media is even more shocking.
What about those public officials who insist that their pregnant wives cannot deliver their babies in Ghana and fly them to the United States of America, Europe, or South Africa?
All these happen against a backdrop of extreme poverty in Ghana which these public officials swear to defeat.
