Moments like this make me feel for my girl in a deeper way. I don’t know if she actually feels this, but I can’t help wondering if she ever wants to show up to certain events freely without it turning into a spectacle the second she walks in.
Juneteenth is for Black Americans, specifically Black Texans. You are welcomed to host an event but if it is not catered to Black Americans & Black American culture, don’t label it a Juneteenth event. So no, afrobeats/dancehall/etc. should not be the focus of Juneteenth events
