The world doesn't just take a strange outlook once the eyes are finally open. The world loses taste. Color. Form.
Regardless, dear conscious soul, the quicker you find happiness in its most raw form(if possible), plus treat yourself with grace, the better.
You’re not lost, dear conscious soul. You’re just seeing the world with fewer illusions. The world always looks a little strange when your eyes are finally open.
I think my only 2 core criticism of Kendrick are:
1. I think Kendrick is the GOAT of his generation based on the density and quality of his discography. 100% my favorite rapper of all time but it’s hard to stack him up against objective GOATS like Hov and Nas because his catalog is so much smaller than them. Obviously this can be something that can change but I want a more active Kendrick but I will say he’s atleast top 10 all time and with 4-5 more albums there’s no debate if he stays consistent with his output.
2. This is a criticism of a lot of the rappers people consider the greatest of this generation but I think Kendrick hasn’t done enough to cultivate the next generation of rappers that still keep lyricism at the forefront of their artistry but also have the versatility needed to appeal to wider audiences. There’s no reason why he’s never worked with a Smino, Mick Jenkins, SWAVAY, Marco plus, etc. The irony is a lot of artist in this lane draw some inspiration from him and it seems like for the most part he ignores this generation of rappers.
Again these are my opinions doesn’t change how I feel about him or his music just some criticism I have.
I thought a new item would help, and by the time it gets old, I am sure to want something else, that is to say, I cannot please myself, let alone you, nor everybody.

Let me give u guys my instant thoughts on Baby Keem’s project (don’t worry I’m gonna sit with it more and write a Substack next week)
Let me say this now!!!!!
I do not say this lightly. Baby Keem is one of my favourite artists of his generation. Ca$ino is not a rollout album. It is the sound of someone disappearing to rebuild himself. Five years to sit with grief and where he came from.
Had to do NERD registration and clearance, a soft copy of my final year project was a requirement, but I lost the initial one I had. Many thanks to one of these AI apps, I could not have imagined typing my project manually, all over.

Album Review for The Fall-Off by J Cole
I’ve never been so proud and disappointed all at the same time. This album is very up and down. There are some really high highs, and some really LOW LOWS. Does this album deserve the love for how great it is? Yes. Does this album warrant hate? Also, Yes!
The biggest highlight of this album is the storytelling. There are tons of story and layered elements of depth within a lot of these tracks. Most of that depth comes from the sample choices such as the Mobb Deep sample and even how “I Love Her Again” is influenced by Common’s song “I used to love H.E.R.” which might I add is also sampled here. Are all of the samples used in the proper form? No. Not at all. There are some melodic elements on samples that just don’t fit and it stick out to the point of where you want to skip the song.
The other layered elements are feelings of managing success while others stayed behind, looking back at his past self and finding peace. Within the tracks you have some features that really add to the strong vibes of the album. Tems, Future, and even Burna Boy are all contributing to this project. There are more features which isn’t too common but it’s welcomed in a sense.
The production feels very simplistic in certain aspects but then it has an interesting take on adding acoustics, deep bass and past sampled tracks. Some of Cole’s production feels like it was made by kill EDWARD (deep cut if you know), but some beats are really solid, and then some are hella unnecessary. His rap style is best when he’s giving you bars. Going all melodic is not his style and it’s not as enjoy as the tracks that are based around pure rap.
Considering this is a double album, the first 6 tracks are literally flawless, after that, it becomes a toss up. Things such as The Alchemist’s production and Erykah Badu’s background vocals are really positive but the melodic style just doesn’t fit him. Overall it’s a good listen but the initial hype will die down and we’ll look back and say he had some good raps, and completely ignore the melodic shit. Solid album.
Favorite Tracks: TWO SIX, Poor Thang, Old Dog
Disc 29 Score: 9/10
Disc 39 Score: 6.8/10
Overall Score: 7.9/10
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 They said he drop every 5 yrs. 😩 He has 5 studio albums compared to the field who has double some with 3 or more times that much and yet every single project is still relevant today (timeless). He surpassed what JayZ did in 30yrs in 15 half that time. He don’t speak, he don’t do interviews, He don’t get online entertaining bullshit or arguing narratives. He put it all in the music. Is he perfect FUCK NO!!!!! We knew that already because he put it in the music. We just watched a conscious rapper do a worldwide stadium tour selling out countries. Let’s also mention he has 3 of the top 10 hip-hop tours ever. Entire stadiums going bar for bar with him. G.K.M.C just went Diamond. DAMN about to be Diamond. Not Like Us Diamond in 3 countries. 8 other Diamond eligible records once certified. Moral of the story is he outdone the entire field off elite raps, storytelling, and being authentic. Putting out projects that appeal to the masses but most importantly centers around his people and their struggles but also everyone around the world. If y’all mad be mad at yourself the entire field had 5yrs to knock that man out of the top spot but wanted to shake ass to beats without ever saying or standing on shit. I’m sick of the GRAMMYS don’t matter conversation from the Cole and Aubrey fans. They don’t matter now because they kept losing because Cole and Drake use to submit every year only stopped submitting when they kept losing to Kendrick. That’s when the complaints started. Humility is the difference. when Kendrick lost to Macklemore he handled that with grace even when Mack apologized to him he didn’t lash out and blame nobody he kept working he didn’t let his quality decline still delivered amazing bodies of work and waited his turn. That’s the reason they really mad at him.
I believe this anecdotally, but hear me out. I wouldn’t say they know in any absolute sense, but I think they can sense the spiritual and existential depth of a man they’re genuinely attuned to, and that depth often translates downstream to material success.
I have no evidence for it and I don’t think many of them articulate it well themselves, still it’s my observation that women have a felt, pre-rational sensitivity to a man’s inner orientation, his seriousness, coherence, capacity for meaning, sense of direction and endurance long before these qualifies fully express themselves outwardly.
I don’t think this is fully gender-neutral though cos I’ve felt it toward others too but with women it seems to shows up earlier than I’d consciously detect. My suspicion is that when a woman is genuinely attuned to you, often because of something you already embody, she senses it and begins, largely subconsciously, to invest extraordinary emotional energy into you in the form of care, belief, patience, encouragement, sacrifice. Oh well, just an observation I think worth exploring.
