Dug into this and I found 5 auctions, 5 different low-feedback accounts, one per auction. Each account has 60%+ of their entire eBay history bidding on this one seller. That’s not proxy bidding. That’s an organized shill network.

Maybe I’m crazy. But literally one person with minimal feedback bidding it up all day. Checked other auctions by the seller and four other auctions have similar activity. I let this card go and I’m curious if it will be relisted. Anyone else notice this? #thehobby @CardPurchaser

@yesinmybackcard @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser You can identify they’re different accounts by the different feedback counts. Each of those accounts has 60%+ of their entire eBay bid history concentrated on this one seller.

@yesinmybackcard @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser We understand how proxy bidding works. That’s not what’s happening here. There are 5 different auctions from the same seller, each with a different low-feedback account as the only bidder driving up the price.

What are the odds that 5 separate buyers, across 5 different auctions, all happen to almost exclusively bid on one seller?

@yesinmybackcard @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser One bidder each listing driving up the price, can be seen by the feedback to see it’s the same user. Not multiple bidders on any of the suspected shilled listings. Each bidder had 60% or higher of all bids on this sellers store.

On other listings of this seller, same pattern of single user bidding up $5 at a time with 60% of all bids were to this seller.

When you have 5 different bidders on 5 different listings where over 60% of their bids are for this one seller, something fishy is going on Similar bid increments on each listing of high end cards, eBay now tells you stats on the buyer bidding

This SS shows one bidder, feedback at 22
They bid 25, auction at 26, they bid 30, auction at 31, etc. they keep doing that until $130, this same pattern across 5 different auctions is suspicious because it’s 1 bidder across each auction

@berkowitzb @CardPurchaser The 168 in this listing had top bid, same user bid it up $5 increments, majority of that buyers bids are to this seller. You can tell it’s the same buyer because of the feedback. Go to a different listing and it’s the same pattern. Different buyer account, but same buyer per list

@SweetTradeCards @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser A reserve? The listing had no reserve and if each one of these instances happened by themselves, sure it’s possible but way too many coincidences on multiple listings.

@SweetTradeCards @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser AND today one of the auctions that was won by an account I suspected of shilling after bidding up another buyer, was relisted. Seems like they won by accident, canceled the order, and relisted.

@SweetTradeCards @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser Of bids were on this sellers items. Each of those accounts bids followed the same pattern where they would bid in $5 increments slowly driving up the price.

@SweetTradeCards @berkowitzb @CardPurchaser I looked into this further, on the account were 3 different auctions of super high end cards being bid on by accounts with 0 feedback, all
with more than 50% of their bids going to this seller. There were also 2 other auctions where the the account bidding had feedback, 50%+
