The Whistlers in the Dark by Victoria Williamson is a story set across the Antonine Wall, 158 AD. A kitchen sink drama book with lots of detail of life at the time - Roman and Damnonii. Really enjoyed it - great characters too.
A wee plug for the lovely @Kinneil Museum, which is threatened with closure in 2026. It details Roman history, plus the story of the wider Bo'ness area. Admission is free. Details on the Kinneil and Falkirk Council websites. Pop in. https://t.co/OBgIBottEg
Folks in Bo'ness are big advocates for their history. They lobbied for a proper replica of their iconic Bridgeness Slab to be installed in the town and have now produced a guide to the Roman @AntonineWall on the @Bonessnetwork website . . . .

@TrimontiumTrust@bonessnetwork This amazing Roman relic inspired an impressive replica, sited close to where the original was found in Bo'ness. The distance tablet is also the subject of its own movie .... https://t.co/nVOLZIXet0
Said to be one of the finest Roman artefacts found in Britain, dating back to AD 142, the Bridgeness Roman distance slab resides in the National Museum of Scotland, discovered in Bo'ness. It commemorated the construction of the eastern end of the Antonine Wall.
@johannes_mono You must visit the @AntonineWall. Great Roman history, good places to walk and fantastic - later - heritage sites too. The @Kinneil area is a good place to start in the east. https://t.co/MCvKYCLywu
