I need to tell you something that makes me angrier than anything else in medicine.
60 randomized controlled trials. 323,950 patients. Every cholesterol-lowering drug ever made. Statins. PCSK9 inhibitors. Ezetimibe.
One question. Did lowering LDL cholesterol make people live longer?
Look at the chart. Every dot is a trial. The red line is zero benefit. If these drugs saved lives, the dots would be above the line.
They are not. They reduced LDL by up to 80%. Nobody was saved.
But that is not what makes me angry.
What makes me angry is that millions of people believe they are safe because their LDL is low. Their doctor says "your numbers look great." They go home and never think about it again.
Meanwhile the 12 things that actually cause heart disease are silently building inside them. Nobody is checking. Nobody is testing. Because a cholesterol number gave everyone a false sense of security.
That is not a failure of medicine. That is a fraud.

Out of curiosity, how many of the residents were prescribed statins or other cholesterol lowering drugs? As some have mentioned in this thread, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome are more likely the cause than straight sugar. Sugar may be causal when associated with other items but not likely the primary reason.

Here is what the left expected to happen during the World Cup: Europeans were supposed to smirk at us. They were supposed to mock our religion and our guns. They were supposed to turn away in righteous disgust at our abundance and free refills and buffet lines and big trucks and big houses. They don’t marvel at inner-city legal drug zones; they marvel at the wide open expanses of American beauty.
They love ranch dressing. They love the military flyovers. They love the gas stations. They love the 24/7 business hours. They love the huge American flags.
In short, everything our visitors love about America is everything the left hates about America. The leftists watch this in paralyzing horror. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Foreigners were supposed to return to their homelands and report that America is exactly what Barack Obama, Michael Moore, and Sasha Baron Cohen told them it was.
But that’s not going to happen now. Because our foreign guests realize that everything their "elites" told them about us has been a disgusting lie. Just like everything our "elites" tell us about ourselves is a disgusting lie.
But the most important lesson I hope the Europeans take home with them is this. Patriotism is a moral virtue. It’s good to be proud of your country. And despite what the government, the public schools, the universities, Hollywood, social media, the elite globalists, and both the domestic and foreign media tell us, Americans are proud of their country. And if visiting Europeans can see through the lie they’ve been sold about America, I hope they can see the lie they’ve been told about themselves.

ALITO'S DISSENT ON MAIL-IN BALLOTS IS A MASTERPIECE AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT
While the mainstream media is busy celebrating today's ruling, four justices stood in the breach and said what every honest American already knows. Alito's dissent in Watson v. RNC is not just a legal argument. It is a warning shot about where this country is headed if we do not get serious about election integrity.
Read these words carefully.
Alito wrote that when thousands of absentee ballots flow in after Election Day and potentially flip the result of an election, charges of a rigged election explode. That is a sitting Supreme Court Justice, in an official dissent, validating what the corporate media has spent four years calling a conspiracy theory.
He went further.
Alito cited research showing that drawn-out ballot counting produces a large and significant decrease in Americans' trust in elections. Not a talking point. Not a campaign slogan. Peer reviewed research cited in a Supreme Court dissent. The problem is real, it is documented, and five justices just decided to ignore it.
On fraud, Alito was surgical.
He pointed out that as far back as 2005, a commission chaired by Jimmy Carter and James Baker concluded that absentee voting was the largest source of potential voter fraud in American elections. Jimmy Carter. The left canonizes that man. His own commission said mail-in ballots are the biggest fraud vulnerability we have. And today's majority just threw the door open wider.
Then Alito did something remarkable.
He painted a picture of exactly what this ruling could produce. A close presidential election. One state still counting. The leading candidate watching his margin shrink day after day as new batches of mail-in ballots arrive. The lead flipping with days to spare before electors must cast their votes. He was not writing fiction. He was describing something we have already watched happen in slow motion in race after race since 2020.
He also torched the majority's logic directly.
Barrett and Roberts argued that the word election in federal law only governs when voters CAST their ballots, not when officials RECEIVE them. Alito called this what it is. The electorate's choice is not complete, he argued, until all the ballots have been collected and the decision is fixed. A ballot sitting in a mail truck three days after Election Day is not a completed act of voting. It is an open question. And open questions are where fraud lives.
He also raised something nobody else is talking about.
What is the limiting principle here? If states can accept ballots five days late, can they accept them twenty-one days late? Washington State already does. Can a state eliminate receipt deadlines entirely? Alito asked that question directly and the majority gave no answer. They opened a door and refused to say how far it swings.
Thomas and Gorsuch stood with Alito completely. Kavanaugh joined most of it.
And Barrett, the justice we were told would hold the line, wrote the opinion that Alito was dissenting against.
History will not be kind to this decision. But it may be very kind to this dissent. The greatest dissents in Supreme Court history are often the ones that turn out to be right. Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch put it on the record today.
The question is what we do with it.

And here’s what almost everyone is missing:
Most people think that unless the Senate passes the SAVE Act, then the next president can just reverse it, because it’s only an Executive Order.
Wrong.
Trump isn’t writing a new law.
It’s ALREADY unconstitutional for illegals, dead people and non citizens to vote in federal elections.
Trump will just be “declaring” through EXECUTIVE ORDER, that he is now enforcing the law ALREADY on the books and the Supreme Court will then “declare” that his EO is Constitutional.
Do you understand how important that is?
Any president trying to reverse Trump’s EO on the SAVE Act, will lose in court because their EO will be deemed “unconstitutional.”
There’s a huge difference between an Executive Order by a president, that is changing “policy, rules, regulations or initiatives” ……and an Executive Order by a president, that is enforcing and protecting the Constitutional rights of American citizens.
Midterms are ALREADY safe.
Power back to the people.
The enemy has actually walked right into a trap.
All of these Supreme Court rulings “upholding” Trump’s EO’s as Constitutional, makes it much harder for ANY future president or Congress to reverse them.

As we discussed, it may take a while based on fact I was being poisoned by the statins for nearly 30 yrs with dosages constantly increasing because doctor lacked knowledge to properly treat.
I agree. But I also think liver is key here. In all my labs, my liver functions have been higher and seem to be directly tied to the triglyceride numbers. When I started working on lower liver numbers, tris came down. Now I am trying to weed through all the info to find best way to detox liver. For me that might be key to accelerating the process to getting back to insulin sensitivity.
I love the projection. Rick Scott knows the CIA, like the IRGC, has murdered thousands of Americans, fed them LSD, experimented on them using MKUltra, assassinated a president, coup'd Nixon with their Gladio troops (cuban exiles), have facilitated the narco trafficking into the US (proven in congressional testimony repeatedly and even 60 mins documented it) murdering 100's of thousands of Americans.

Maybe don't use Irsrael as a cut out to sell them US missiles covertly to kill more Iraqi at the same time you're providing bio weapons to Iraq. Cause evidently they can reverse engineer them and use them to kill Americans later.
Yes, at the end of the day, the nuclear program came from Pakistan (and possibly from Kerr-McGee plutonium missing stash) that the CIA paid for under the guise of funding the ISI against the USSR, the CIA sent them missiles, trained the original cadre of IRCG as the SAVAK (they just knocked off a few of the leaders for appearances and just kept on trucking).
