@ChildOfAlba @Lynn_McGoo It was pretty ineffective (in my case) it stung but you got used to it after a while. I would have much rather had the belt than a punishment exercise any day of the week! (Not that I condone the belt, it was sadistic)

@Lynn_McGoo I was hit a lot at high school, mainly because of my abhorrent sarcasm. In this particular instance he was a bit “tired” and was sitting with his head down on the desk, someone threw a rubber at him (not me) I got the blame and he belted me still sitting and resumed his position.

My wife and I were watching the hootenanny last Hogmanay which included The Boomtown Rats and after a lot of alcohol consumption I drunkenly bought two tickets at 3am for their gig in Glasgow this October. I am so glad I did!
