Earlier today, I had the honour of inaugurating the Governing Council of The Progressive Institute in the presence of members of the National Working Committee of our great party at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja.
This inauguration marks the successful conclusion of the Institutes governance process, following its unveiling in September 2024.
The Progressive Institute is designed to serve as the intellectual backbone, think tank, and policy resource centre of our party.
Established on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Institute reflects our collective resolve to deepen ideology, strengthen research, and promote evidence-based governance—not just within the APC, but across Nigeria’s political system.
Fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and duly approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education, the Institute was deliberately set up in strict compliance with the law, reinforcing our party’s commitment to transparency, institutional integrity, and the rule of law.
The Progressive Institute will: • Drive policy research and publications
• Organise national and international conferences and trainings
• Build leadership and institutional capacity within the party
• Strengthen ideology, governance, and democratic culture
• Serve as the institutional memory of the APC
As Chairman of the Governing Council, I assure Nigerians that the leadership of our party is fully committed to supporting the Institute to grow into a world-class political and policy institution.
I congratulate all members of the Governing Council for their well-earned appointment and commend their dedication to the progressive cause. I also express deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership, and to my predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for laying a strong foundation for this important institution.
Together, we are building ideas, institutions, and leadership for today and for the future.

Six days later, the world lost a legend. 🕊️
On this day 30 years ago, Tupac released ‘All Eyez On Me.’ This House of Blues show was one of the last times the world would see him perform this album live
