@dancemann15@ThisguyHassan It could be both.
Teach's body is said to be unordinary and is mentioned explicitly by one of the characters in the story after this moment.
He's still a mystery, and I have no doubt that Oda going to flesh that out further later, and this will be foreshadowing when he does.
@riley_dvc@ThisguyHassan You could say that if that's all there was to it, but later it's revealed that Teach's body "isn't normal" and then he acquires a second devil fruit in Marineford, which nobody in the story had an explanation for.
@6starnate@zayyhd_@scubaryan_ Calm down.
The third one was mid.
It is what it is.
It's a common sentiment, not just me and one other person sharing it.
That's why people were calling it a "beggathon" and had nothing to say about 1 or 2 but support.
It didn't do much for audience engagement.
@6starnate@zayyhd_@scubaryan_ I know what I'm talking about.
I'm not the only person who has said that before.
There's a reason why virtually nobody hated on the first or the second Mafiathon, and saw the third differently.
There were zero steaks, which calls for poor engagement and investment.
@Frlgrinchnigg2@scubaryan_ Why do you think nobody had a problem with the first or the second one, and then suddenly thought the third one was an empty cash grab?
There are reasons, but y'all just like to blame everything on hate, which is a factor, but it's really more of Kai's fault this time.
@6starnate@zayyhd_@scubaryan_ The third one wasn't it because the whole premise was literally just "give me money for me to do something that I was already planning to do." No record to beat.
No important goal besides the donation thing which was only secondary.
It just wasn't very engaging imo.
