I will make this solemn announcement before the United Nations General Assembly this coming September.

Kwankwaso was referring to capital projects. Most of these projects are existing ones dating back to OBJ's era, and the few new ones were initiated during President Buhari's government, and many are almost completed.

However, the handful of projects attributed to President Tinubu's administration in the north seem to be underfunded, with only minimal progress unlike the projects in the South, (particularly the South West which has over 10 new projects some of which are mega).

Take the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road project kwankwaso was referring to, for instance.

Despite the ambitious 14-month completion timeline announced by Umahi in February 2025, work appears to be progressing slowly, primarily focused on the Zuba to Jere section. With nine months left to the deadline, there's not a single piece of equipment visible from Jere to Kano. Even the Badagry to Sokoto super highway, is receiving only skeletal work compared to the massive funding of the Lagos coastal road.

We need to tell ourselves the truth. There's still time for the government to make amends. Indeed, these will be the issues in the 2027 campaign elections, especially in the north.

If you have an opportunity to serve in government and you are not the ultimate authority, do not make the mistake of thinking that the person that sent you on an errand necessarily wants you to arrive where he sent you. If you do, you’ll leave government bitter.

Put in your best but manage your expectations. Even when your boss is not sincere, do the right things that will make it difficult for him to undo your work but don’t expect that everything will change overnight. Don’t overestimate yourself. No matter who you are, you are just a small cog in a very big wheel. Be humble.

Sometimes, things actually get worse before they get better. It happens like that sometimes. If you want to change institutions (the way things are done in a society), you need to be prepared for the long game.

Don’t go brandishing chainsaws unless you are the Number 1 citizen. Even the Number 1 citizen must still negotiate with the legislature and carry the judiciary along. He also needs to win the hearts and minds of citizens. It is not like private business.

Serving your country is a privilege, not a right. No matter how qualified you are, there is always someone else who can do what you’ve been appointed to do. Again, be humble. If you can’t, go and stand for elections yourself!

10. Trust and Loyalty: Leadership is a trust (Amanah) from Allah, and leaders must remain loyal to this trust, avoiding corruption and betrayal.

The book emphasizes that leadership is a divine responsibility that must be fulfilled with sincerity, integrity, and adherence to Islamic values.
