Bihar Review

Bihar. People. Policy.

[Bihar Review @BiharReview]

This is Bihar's biggest asset and potential - youngest population in the country! By a good margin too.

Realising this potential is the challenge.

(Of course, same can be said for India as a whole, with respect to rest of the world.)

[Bihar Review @BiharReview]

This is both heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time.

Yes! A faster pace of economic growth should be the one and only public policy priority for Bihar.

We are too far behind to think about anything else.

[Sanjeev Singh @sanjeevsinghx]

Biharis shouldn't get into Hindi vs Tamil fight. It's not our fight.

[Bihar Review @BiharReview]

Don't think anyone is going to resign.

A resignation will mean taking responsibility and admitting mistake - an alien concept for most politicians and bureaucrats.

Mistakes will not be corrected.
No lessons learned.
Victims will be blamed.

We have seen this movie before.

Dainik Bhaskar is on the ground right now. Listen to the REAL story behind the stampede. Ashwini Vaishnav should resign. #NewDelhiRailwaystation

If you are part of the unlucky millions stuck with only the government-provided education, health, transport (railways), etc. - Good luck!!

Agree with Sanjeev ji on most occasions. Here I disagree.

Don't think there was ever a time when people voted on the candidate's merit. At least in my living memory, it is last name of the candidate that has mattered most (especially in #Bihar).

Indeed, democracy is failing!

[Sanjeev Singh @sanjeevsinghx]

Before: People voted for individual candidates based on their merit / development work.

Now: We vote a party symbol... as local candidates are propped at the last minute. We end up voting people who just follow the party line, not what we, the voters, want.

Essentially, we elect puppets, not leaders. Democracy is failing.

Excellent thread on the various languages of #Bihar.

1/ I am from Bihar, but I don’t speak in Bihari language. Folks from Bengal speak Bengali, Odisha people speak Odiya, Tamil Nadu has tamil and Karnataka has Kannada. So shouldn’t I, a Bihari, speak in Bihari? No, Bihari, as I will explain here, is not a language. A 🧵

Champaran style mutton in #Mumbai at Raju Champaran Meat House outside One World Centre on Senapati Bapat Marg. This is very close to the Prabhadevi (Elphinstone Road) railway station. I like the Champaran style meat served at Potbelly, Bihar Bhavan, Chanakyapuri in New Delhi. Eager to taste this mutton now.

Hope 2 lakh govt school #teachers' recruitment was not an end in itself. #Bihar govt must get them trained too.

Ideally, this money should have gone to students, for them to choose school of their choice (govt or private).

मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि #बिहार के ज्यादा से ज्यादा लोग INCOME TAX दने को इक्षुक होंगे।

अब बस किसी तरह INCOME का जुगाङ हो जाए।

To all governments (union, state, and local):

आप हमें इनकम (कमाने) दो, हम आपको टैक्स देंगे।
Let me earn an (honest) income, and I'll give you tax.
