@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 Let's suppose that logic was somehow "evolved into" our brains before we had the capcity to observe it's existence.
Where is logic in the world? If it's all just materialism, how does logic fit into it? It cannot be felt, observed, or seen on it's own in any way
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 So then, logic was simply discovered by organic beings? This also doesn't make sense bc in order to undergo pattern recognition and make inferences, you already presuppose the laws of logic. You can't interpret something as a "pattern" without the law of identity, for example
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 So are you then saying that logic did not exist before organic materials began evolving? Or are you saying logic was "discovered" as an inherent nature of reality as we began evolving? Either argument is bad, and I can show why easily
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 If logic is a "byproduct of evolution", why do nonorganic materials still follow it's normative authority? A rock does not violate the law of noncontradiction by existing and not-existing at the same time. All of reality, including things that don't "evolve", follow logic
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 I only have 250 characters to type, but the atheist position is the one that presupposes logic without justifying it anyways. How is it that the laws of logic are universal with absolute normative authority on all of reality?
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 Yes but what I wrote below isn't circular in any way, and it's the only thing I've revealed to you so far. So no, nothing I've said is circular.
@OceantheNaga@philliplede ok, ur correct that just from this statement alone we cannot infer that she abides by a moral framework. It is wrong to say it's definitionally moral. But it becomes moral when we extrapolate from the statement that we ought to align with our "interest"
@AniconomicsAlt@W33ab00Jones@ShitpostRock2 All systems are ultimately circular, but no you're misunderstanding.
X is a necessary precondition for Y. Y, therefore X.
Where is the "circular logic" you're talking about? We already presuppose the existence of logic and reason by having this discussion
@klusterfk10@DryMouthGroyper@aquavitae96 literally everything you just said is the opposite of what actually happened. Forgiveness could have came, they did know it was wrong, and they did have a relationship with God afterwards. God specifically asks this question to give them an opportunity to repent
