Henry Nowak’s case should have been a watershed moment for the police.

Yet here we are again, seeing police officers aggressively targeting and arresting a young white male who had been attacked by a gang of thugs.

The police witnessed the assault, and instead of arresting the attackers, they allowed them to flee the scene, and arrested the victim instead.

This was alongside engaging in unprofessional behaviour and crude language directed at the victim.

It is clear policing standards have not only fallen but two-tier policing is a reality faced by Britons everyday.

This ultimately, is causing the erosion of trust and respect in the police force.

We must end two-tier policing.

Police are not exempt from the legal standards for lawful use of force.

There was no necessity, it wasn't proportional it also wasn't reasonable for the officer to assault the victim.

You say the person was charged for assault on a police officer, however he was responding to seemingly unlawful force by the police, given the charges it seems they weren't arresting or detaining him for anything else.

So why did the officer use force on him?

The full video of a young English men getting arrested by two female police officers after defending himself against an attack by 3 foreigners in Birmingham has now been released.

He swung against one of the officers without connecting half a second after receiving a punch from one of the attackers and could not have known that he had just just been pushed up against a wall by a police officer. As soon as he saw that it was an officer, he didn’t swing again.

Despite the video evidence, the Birmingham police have announced that they support their officer’s version of the story and that the young man will be charged with assault against a police officer.

If sentenced, he will likely spend around 6 months to a year in prison as punching an officer is classified as an aggravated offence.

There was no effort by the officers to arrest the 3 foreign attackers.
