Thank you @BikeDurham for teaching our Rams bike safety and helping them build safe riding habits!
¡Gracias @BikeDurham por enseñarles a nuestros niños Ram cómo andar en bicicleta de forma segura y a desarrollar hábitos seguros al manejar bicis!
Winter storm and progress update! We conducted our audit of bus stops and had over 25 volunteers join us to prep the benches for the build session. Join: https://t.co/o4ON16TfLY
Gregory (@BikeDurham's awesome Advocacy Organizer) shows off the bench we built yesterday on MLK Day. Join us for more assembling at the next community meeting on Monday, January 26! Deployment on Transit Equity Day (February 4th).
Did you know the bus boycott sparked by Rosa Parks 70 years ago was sustained for 381 days? In the end, it was ruled that bus segregation was unconstitutional. Mobilizing the community is a huge component of our work. Help us continue to do that: https://t.co/ul4TzdNN8M
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold and long wait to ride with us or see us from the sidelines! We enjoyed the quality time with y'all and getting to snack on some treats with everyone afterwards.
Riding in the holiday parade is one of our favorite annual traditions. Join us 12/13 at the intersection of Ramseur & Dillard streets - 9am meeting and 10am rolling out. Afterwards we'll be having a ~thaw out~ at ReCity with warm bevs and bagels for folks. https://t.co/z7u5XYyF1U
Petitioning, door-knocking, phone banking: Organizing is the quiet mechanism that turns one person’s frustration into a force powerful enough to create real change. Donate on Giving Tuesday and have your donation matched! https://t.co/ul4TzdNN8M
We've talked a ton about our safe streets campaign, bus rapid transit, direct action through bike lane cleanups, and more with y'all over the last week. Thanks for helping us keep our priorities in check - we'll be back with a curated advocacy priority agenda for 2026!
"Each success has built momentum toward a vision where safe streets are a right, not a privilege." 🚲 🌟

We can pretty confidently say we moved the Bull City this past Sunday! With just north of 1,500 people out along the corridor, this was Durham's biggest open streets event. To our volunteers, hundreds of local activity partners, and sponsors, thank you! 🐃 🏋️♀️ 🛼 🚴 🛹 🤸♂️ 🛴 🦽
We're meeting up with Oaks and Spokes for the Barkitecture event at the downtown Cary park! Train tickets with bike space are limited so make sure you sign up in advance: https://t.co/7NehiRKr9S 🚄 🐾
Tomorrow is the last day of #WeekWithoutDriving and we know how we're spending it! Make sure you come out to our car-free open streets event, Move-A-Bull City, and experience the best part of Week Without Driving: freedom, community, connection, and fun! See you soon!
Commuting by biking, walking, or using transit, even when it's often less convenient than driving, is a privilege many of us have. But for others, it's not a choice: Driving simply isn't an option. #WeekWithoutDriving
We're more than halfway through #WeekWithoutDriving! It's always important to remember that for many, especially for those doing this challenge for the first time, the thought of going a day - much less a whole week - without driving in NC is unfathomable.
How's your #WeekWithoutDriving going folks? A past participant, Noah, who said "Because I suffer from Chronic pain and joint dysfunction, even though I am an avid rider and walker, sometimes I just don't feel well enough to ride or walk especially when time limitations step in."
National #WeekWithoutDriving is mooooving along. It's been rainy this week - has it put a damper on your Week Without Driving? We've been hoofing it more and using transit over cycling when the weather is bad.
#NationalWeekWithoutDriving is underway and will culminate with Move-A-Bull City - our annual sustainable transit celebration turned massive, car-free open streets event this year. So, what better way to move through National WWD than through the lens of movement?
