Dutch companies pay their employees to commute to work by bike.
Cyclists can claim EUR 0.21 per km off their tax bill. On a regular bike, employees cycle an average of 9 kilometers back and forth in the Netherlands.
That’s about €450 a year.
Great initiative from colleagues cycling in support of clean air!

Cycling along one of the greenest cycle lanes in London.🌿It has over 600m2 of rain gardens with #SuDS and 1000s of plants. Wouldn’t be amazing if all new cycle lanes could incorporate greenery like this? @willnorman@Labourstone@wfcouncil@TfL
Active travel isn't just a 'nice to have'. ⚠️
Walking and cycling is worth an estimated £36.5 billion to the UK economy annually and is how millions of people get to work, go to the shops and travel around healthily, cheaply, and emissions-free.
For the £2 billion earmarked for the Silvertown Tunnel, London could deliver 1,300km of fully-segregated cycle lanes in London; drastically reducing surface transport emissions, relieving congestion, improving road safety, and reducing public health costs.
Let's do that instead.
