The year was 1999. Because MicroSoft loved what I did on Age of Empires they demanded I do the expansion pack for Age of Empires II. With Age 1, I did Rise of Rome, which made sense because the ancient days kind of ended with Rome. But there was no obvious successor to medieval tgimes, so I went with the generic "The Conquerors" theme. Naturally we wanted conquest civs. We decided to have 4 (same number as Rise of Rome).
I chose the Huns, the Spanish, the Mayans, and the Aztecs. I was SO excited to get Aztecs into a game. And please, no one try to mansplain to me that "Aztecs were bad guys." Friend, I wanted them BECAUSE they were bad guys.
Anyway, the Conquerors project was really smooth. We are almost done five weeks ahead of schedule - almost unheard of in a software project. I was so proud. My whole 6-man team was giddy because when we finished we could move onto Age of Mythology or Age of Empires 3, with the cool kids.
Then Microsoft called.

One morning, a rabbit walks into a butcher shop and says, 'Hello, sir. Do you have any carrots?'
The barber responds, 'Carrots? This is a butcher shop. We don't sell carrots here.'
'Oh', responds the rabbit, 'My apologies', and he hops out of the store.
The next day, the rabbit comes back. 'Helloooo. Do you have any carrots?'
'You're that rabbit from yesterday, aren't you? I already told you. This is a butcher shop. We don't sell carrots.'
'Ahh. Right.' The rabbit hops out again.
Day three comes around, and again the rabbit appears. 'Hiiiiiiiiiiiii. Do you have any carrots?'
'Look, mate, I've told you. This is a butcher shop. If you come back asking for more bleeding carrots, I'll nail your ears to the floor!'
'My ears, you say? Hmm, okay, thanks anyway.' The rabbit hops out.
Day four passes, and there's no rabbit. Day five and day six pass without any sign of the rabbit, either.
Day seven comes around, and suddenly, the rabbit reappears. 'Heeeeey. Do you have any nails?'
'....Nails? Of course I don't, you imbecile! This is a butcher shop!'
'Right. Got any carrots, then?'

IFS is used by both Indian Forest Service and Indian Foreign Service, and their tussle over the abbreviation is quite amusing. In 2016, MEA wrote to DOPT that Indian Foreign Service was created in 1946, whereas Indian Forest Service came into being in 1966, so they should have the sole claim over IFS and Forest Service should instead use IFOS.
In response, MoEFCC said that the very nomenclature Indian Foreign Service sounds unconvincing: how can a service be both 'Indian' and 'Foreign' at the same time? it appears incomplete and alien, and proposed that it be renamed "Indian Diplomatic Service (IDS)" or "Indian External Affairs Service (IEAS)."
They further pointed that Imperial Forest Service (IFS) was established in 1866 and later revived as the Indian Forest Service in 1966, therefore, they have the earlier claim over IFS.
Hilarious.
