Today tried to bike to work through the new #CHOP and nearly got arrested for "not seeing" an unmarked police car and going past a "Local access traffic" sign (which doesn't apply to bikes, 11.14.300). Why not just put a "Detour" sign out? I felt safer biking through old #CHOP
@bri_cycles I understand getting away from something as rationale. This guy was running severals red lights, and not going fast enough to make it worth it since I easily followed while following lights. He's giving credence to drivers that complain about bikers and getting nothing out of it.
Dear Seattle Bikes,
Don't run red lights. Does it make you fast? Nope. See this fool run a red light. I caught up to him going my normal speed, in the bike lane, following the rules. Don't run red lights. Please.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Biker
Dear Seattle Cars,
You don't have right of way when you sideswipe the bike lane to get around the car in front of you waiting to turn left. You definitely don't have the right to honk to oncoming traffic turning left to get out of your way.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Bike
Dear Seattle Cars,
Please remember to yield when you are supposed to yield. And yielding does not mean going until you are a few feet away and then stopping quickly because something is in front of you.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Bike

Dear Seattle Pedestrians,
Could you please look both ways before crossing the street? And it doesn't count if you are behind something you can't see past.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Biker

Dear Seattle Cars,
If only there was a way to let bikers know that you are going to turn right before you start turning, it would be great! A lot of potential collisions could be avoided. If only.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Biker

@whitnuld I'll admit, the difference between being impressed or being annoyed by this biker going 28 mph on a 3% incline is purely dependent on whether they are on #ebike.
Dear Seattle "E-riders",
If you are biking in the bike lane and going faster than the cars, maybe you should not be in the bike lane? Maybe go slower? It would be nice to not worry about being rear-ended by a bike.
Sincerely,
A Seattle Biker
