You better ask questions in the recruiting process.
From a parent of a P5 player.
We have been told, but I can't verify this, the guys playing this year have it in their NIL deals to get so many at bats or innings pitched. This was told to us by a parent whose son is a ___________ and negotiated this deal through his agent/advisor. We were told many, if not all, the every day players are represented and that's why this parent thinks ____________ isn't getting chances.
I've asked many times why perennial power programs underachieve grossly out of the blue. One of the only responses that makes sense is guaranteed playing time that in essence destroys true competition to play. Guaranteed playing time and over reliance on data and analytics and you have a complete mess. It's comical to watch agents and advisors mandate things from coaches. Agents fighting for playing time and NIL are destroying players with entitlement. Hey agent if your client needs you badgering the college coach for playing time he probably isn't a future MLB player. Hey Mr. College Coach if you're guaranteeing playing time to players you're a clown.
