July’s #MentoringMoment is here! Dr. @CristinaAFRoman offers excellent advice on lessons learned from failure and how these experiences reveal the “why” for being a neuropsychologist. Thanks for your words of wisdom, Dr. Román! #NeuropsychTwitter
3/3: Mr. Janulus is not the only impressive polyglot in the world, however, with records claiming >65 languages spoken by one person (e.g., Emil Krebs). Talk about multilingual goals! #BilingualNP_WordsOfTheWeek#PalabrasNP_BilingüesDeLaSemana @CynthiaFunesPhD @CristinaAFRoman
1/3: Fun Fact Friday: Did you know that the world record for most languages spoken is 42?!
Powell Janulus is a Canadian hyperpolyglot who has studied at least 80 languages, is reportedly skilled in 64 languages, & has shown proficiency in 42 languages.
2/3: Neuropsychologically, Mr. Janulus is an interesting case not only because of his multilingual abilities, but he suffered a stroke in his 60s and lost his ability to speak English- his native language (he has regained it since)!
We’re proud to present our first #APAHM Conversation Series during Thursdays in May. Stay tuned for more details!
Special thanks to @SoBlackNeuro and Dr. Kendra Anderson for the inspiration and support!

1/4: The next series of #BilingualNP_WordsOfTheWeek posts will focus on visual perception. Visual perception is the “brain’s ability to receive, interpret, and act upon visual stimuli” (Schriber Orloff, 2004).
3/4 : Humans use the “where” and “what” pathways to recognize objects and tell where they are in space. Deficits in visual perception on neuropsychological testing can provide important information about the brain.
