I’ve literally been in a public restroom where a dad knocked loudly and announced “I’m a dad bringing my 3 year old daughter in to use the restroom. Is everyone decent?” And it’s was me and a friend and we had no objections. Little girls should be allowed to go potty in a clean restroom with a trusted adult if there are no family restrooms available. That old man is a weirdo for making it a big deal and scaring those girls.
There’s absolutely nothing more pleasing than watching yourself do the things you said you’d do. I really value honoring the promises I’ve made to myself.
you must create because the thing you’d make doesn’t exist anywhere else. nobody has your exact combination of experiences and wounds and obsessions, which means the work only you could make is genuinely irreplaceable. if you don’t make it, it simply never exists. the world just goes without it, never knowing what it missed. that’s the most exciting thing about being you. the thing is waiting and you’re the only door it has.
years ago, i came across a quote “if you want people to care, you need to care first” it has stayed with me ever since. i think we need to be kind without expecting anything, because sometimes the reciprocity comes much later, when you least expect it. (it all comes back around).
you’ll get rejected and dumped and fired and you’ll fail at things you were sure about, that’s just the cost of being alive. the question isn’t whether it’ll happen but how quickly you can get yourself back to swinging at the next opportunity. every day you spend hostage to what already happened is a day you’re not creating what’s next. reset fast.
Do not let people gaslight you into thinking that duality does not exist. You can be grateful and annoyed. You can want more and be grateful for what you have. You can be angry and frustrated and still be grateful. A lot of religious and spiritual gaslighting out here.
once you turn 20 you have to fight everyday for the rest of your life to not lose your personality & spirit...bc what once came naturally to you will be exhausted into nothing if you don't actively Try. it's terrifyingly easy to become a lethargic, soulless adult
The way she pops out of the choreo to vamp a little before hitting the next move and resuming is soooo mesmerizing. She’s just brimming with personality and flair and joy all at once. Few performers are as interesting to watch.
I’m confused by all the discussion around Ariana’s body even if she does have anorexia or an eating disorder, how is zooming in on her body, criticizing her appearance or constantly comparing her to how she looked years ago supposed to help her ?
