@RabidW00kie@ChrisKirschner He's essentially taking the 5th starter spot. The alternative would be a temporary extra reliever collecting dust in the bullpen. It really makes no functional difference with the Gil move.
@AAll1776@BryanHoch Prepare for the fact he will be back in the minors very soon. The fact is, his skill set still doesn't match the available role if/when Stanton is healthy.
@DericFung@BryanHoch He'll play until Stanton is ready. Could be just a few of days. Could be longer if an IL stint is required. This is definitely a temporary gig, as they'll eventually need roster spots for 5th starter and Volpe.
@Mgriffith093@francysromeroFR Dominguez is replacing Gil. They don't need a fifth starter until next week. Unless they decide Stanton needs the 10 days.
@CharlieRGa@c7sims@Joelsherman1@francysromeroFR They may not bring up a pitcher. They don't need a fifth starter until next week. This may just be to get temporary DH coverage without having to put Stanton on the IL.
@Georgesadeemia@BryanHoch Lol, Peraza sucks. It's been 16 games this year. He was terrible for the Angels last year. McMahon was a terrible trade, but lets not make Peraza out to be something he is not.
@Georgesadeemia@BryanHoch He has 570 career terrible plate appearances. He never earned a bigger chance. McMahon is terrible. So is Peraza. One game doesn't erase the rest of his career.
@allnysports@ChrisKirschner They've traded a ton of prospects over the years. Unless Hal is willing to spend like the Dodgers, they need to try to actually develop at least some of them. Not all will ultimately work out. Most don't.
@ChrisKirschner@Srechter7 Soto is much better offensively. Soto was playing his normal position, not being moved to LF. LF more challenging in YS. Also need backup for 1B, which Bellinger can fill, Tucker can't. Roster wouldn't fit OF and additional backup 1B. Tucker only works if willing to cut Stanton.
