No Country for Old Men & There Will Be Blood are two of the best movies of the 21st Century. The two films went head-to-head for Best Picture in 2008, but to this day, it’s unclear which film is better. Each film was shot near Marfa, Texas. Both films were directed by celebrated American directors & based on novels written by noteworthy American authors. Within each film is a psychotic, Oscar-winning performance from a world-class villain. Furthermore, each film explores the the dark alleys of American greed & capitalism. To answer the decade-long debate: which film should have won Best Picture in 2008? Who cares. Cinema won.
