Solomon asked for wisdom, and God added wealth. Abraham asked for a son, God gave him generations. I pray that in 2026, God gives you more than you ask for.
Thankful for the impact of my friend @UrichJay on the next generation of athletes in South Carolina. Excited to continue to see @Banner_PD grow across our great state and beyond.
Awesome job by former South Carolina QB Jay Urich with his second annual Banner PD Leadership Conference at River Bluff today, designed to develop high school athletes into dependable leaders, on and off the field.
#SBC26 just remember the heroes of the SBC are local pastors and church members, not online influencers and lobbyists. The local church is where theology meets real life.
There is a chart going around comparing the SBC President candidates that is somewhere on the scale of propoganda, to painting Powell in a beta leader type light. Which is strange for someone who was trusted to be our most recent chair of SBTS.
I know Willy well and am sure he has nothing to do with it. He’s my friend, that ain’t ever changing.
It is clear, however, that whomever made it is slanted. That is not a hot take. A chart comparison is helpful, if it is fair and accurate.
Josh has never said he wants to dismantle the credentials committee, he has said MUCH more about being president than to just “serve.” He has also been in favor of every draft of the amendments from Law to Mohler current. Here below is what’s going on in real life, that I hope people can see, regardless of your preferred candidate. Both are proven men, conservatives in every sense of the word, who deserve a fair representation. 👇
Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:14-15
As I look at a World that walks and talks exactly like a world broken by sin and a nation that has forgotten God I’m comforted by three facts: 1. God is sovereign. 2. Jesus is the risen Lord. 3. God is working all things out together for the good of those who love him.
I’m so proud of our Pastoral Pathways team at Upstate Church. This was our monthly Presentation Meeting. They are passionate about learning and growing as preachers of the Gospel.
Great time with @JoshuaWPowell yesterday hearing his heart for the SBC and why he’s willing to serve as President. Thankful for everyone who could join us.
A thought for the day: not every disciple that Jesus called was a fisherman. But every disciple that Jesus calls is to be a fisher of men. Mark 1:17 is plain followers of Jesus fish and if you’re not fishing, you’re not following.
