Just brutal.
And what proportion of blue state ‘healthcare job growth’ is just people scamming Medicaid to get paid to hang out with their grandparents?
@BuckeyeBackup@PathToManliness Huhzas?
It’s not the women’s fault that they incessantly complained about pay and then took to the MSM, the government, and social media to lobby for a portion of the men’s money?
Riiiiight 🙄
The situation is so much more desperate than you probably realize.
University professors are saying they're now unable to teach history because reading long books and passages is how a person learns history. Their students are simply incapable of reading more than a few pages.
Some classes don't assign any reading at all now, only lectures.
There is an assumption among the people managing this decline that reading is just a way of receiving information. It isn't. Proper reading is how we build the mental muscle to synthesize ideas and evaluate them.
If the catastrophic decline in reading and literacy is not addressed now, we risk losing everything. This is civilizational.
Western civilization cannot survive the death of reading because it was built by people with the kind of cognitive depth that a culture of deep reading brings:
Complex reasoning, extended internal dialogue, the capacity to hold opposing ideas in tension. Our systems and institutions are complex, and they require well ordered minds to maintain them.
Reading forms minds, and the West was built by the richest minds in history. We must continue to form new minds in this same model if we're going to keep it.
40 out of 86 Brown students scored a perfect 100 on their midterm. Then the professor moved the final in person, and 22 of those perfect scorers never showed up again.
He'd suspected AI cheating from the start. The take-home midterm was deliberately harder than usual, yet the class averaged 96 when the historical range is 65 to 80. Some answers contained odd phrasing that matched what ChatGPT produced when he ran the questions through it himself.
Roberto Serrano has taught economics at Brown for 34 years. He filed no accusations. He announced the final would be in person, count for half the grade, and that if the two distributions didn't match, the final alone would determine grades.
Then the exodus. 27 students never showed up. 22 of them had perfect midterms. Of the 59 who did show, 19 failed. Several signed the exam and turned it in blank. The average fell from 96 to 48, the lowest in the course's history.
He never needed a plagiarism detector. The cheaters identified themselves by walking away. A grade distribution became a confession.
Here's the part nobody's sitting with. Serrano proved it. He sent the distributions to Brown's dean and provost. The provost never responded. The academic committee's reply amounted to calling it "a wake-up call." The students who bailed before the final walked away clean.
Every university in America is now grading two populations, students and students plus ChatGPT, on one curve. The honest kids in Serrano's class watched a 96 average get set by machines, then sat a real final against it. The cheaters lost nothing. That's the incentive structure now, and it grades itself.
This interview should be studied by future generations. It's that crazy.
2019. Colbert interviews Ellen Page.
Colbert opens by awkwardly making fun of how short Page is. Page then starts complaining that Hollywood is too binary.
Page then claims that the world will end by 2030 because of climate change and says that climate change is as real as the Jussie Smollett attack. (Ironically, she was right about that.)
Page ends with a very emotional performance, blaming Trump for the vicious, racist attack on Smollett.
Wow.
This may go down as one of the most awkward appearances in The View’s history.
It just kept getting worse throughout the entire three minute exhcange.
Sunny Hostin confronted Marjorie Taylor Greene over a deleted X post in which she claimed Greene suggested Graham Platner’s accuser was using “rape for politics.”
Greene immediately tried to walk it back.
Hostin had the receipts.
HOSTIN: “Let me ask you this, because yesterday on X, in a now deleted post you accused Platner’s accuser of doing, ‘rape for politics’, stating she had consensual sex with him years ago.”
GREENE: “No, I didn’t accuse. I…I said…I said women should report rape.”
“Because you want to know why? We want to get these rapists off the street.”
HOSTIN: “Early on in the tweet, and I’ll tell you, I’m a former sex crimes prosecutor…”
GREENE: “Yeah but you’re misquoting me. I wish you’d put my, if you put my deleted tweet up.”
HOSTIN: “We have it!”
GREENE: “Put it up!”
“But I just want to make sure my words aren’t twisted around.”
HOSTIN: “Can someone bring my phone out to me?”
“Well what I recall, because I do have the post. But it has now been deleted.”
“You did say that women should report early, and I will tell you as a former sex crimes prosecutor, women…it is the most underreported crime in our country because women are not believed.”
“You also wrote that she had had consensual sex with him years ago. The fact someone dates people or has had consensual sex with them previously does not mean that they cannot be raped…”
GREENE: “Sunny, you and I are in agreement here.”
HOSTIN: “Well, we’re not.”
“Because I want to know why you would post that and accuse her of rape for politics?”
GREENE: “Well, I would like to know why you wouldn’t put up my actual post?”
HOSTIN: “We’re gonna do it. Here we go!”
GREENE: “Because I wasn’t accusing her…”
HOSTIN: “Your exact quote was, if you are raped or sexually assaulted report it immediately. Don’t wait for years later until the man runs for office to go to news outlets to tell your story.”
“And if you had consensual sex with him years ago, don’t turn it into rape for politics with conflicting stories.”
Absolute train wreck.
I actually understand why Democrat leaders didn't take our stories seriously when the Times reported them in June but are taking them seriously now.
It was by design.
The line most shared from the piece was the claim that the Times “could not corroborate” my story despite talking to two of my friends.
I gave them the contact information for five friends.
They called the two who I clarified would not know about the abuse but would be able to affirm our relationship timeline, events, etc.
They simply did not call the other three.
I also gave them the names of all my former roommates who remembered him stalking our row house (which was about 5 houses down from his) and waiting for me to return. I gave them screenshots of messages between these roommates and I discussing it.
I gave them the names of other men I dated who might have remembered him following us around the hill and showing up on my stoop after we walked home from dates to confront us. I gave them emails to my landlord urgently ending my lease and moving to an apartment across town and diary entries talking about it - all time marked.
I told them that during pre-marital counseling I had spoken to my ex-fiance about the abuse because I had to explain to him why I reacted with such terror any time he lost his temper. They said oh NO we don't need to bother HIM (or my priest). Besides, I had written about it in my diary in detail, they reassured.
As the weeks dragged on I stopped trying to give them evidence because the amount I had already given them seemed to overwhelm them and I thought it meant they clearly had more than enough to verify my every claim.
My friends might not have known the details of the abuse, but they affirmed that yes, I had told them that he was abusive—long before he ran for Senate.
Besides, they assured, my part in their reporting would be small. I thought my details would only serve to affirm Jenny and the other anonymous woman.
Jenny and I - having never met or spoken - both shared with these reporters terrifyingly similar details of intimate partner violence, coercive control, and cycles of abuse/love bombing. The third unnamed woman in the story did as well.
But tell me again how they “could not corroborate.”
I made several contributions to the Platner campaign when I thought he was a Nazi who only sexually assaulted conservative women. Is it possible to get a refund now that we know he’s a Nazi who also rapes Democrats?
Left clip, June 7. Molly Jong-Fast tees up Rick Wilson to smear the Platner accuser as a right wing operative
Right clip, Today. Fast is dismayed that Democrats ran Platner without proper vetting
“I don’t know we got here!"
Media revisionism on this is going to be next level
"I was okay with Graham Platner getting a Nazi Totenkopf tattoo, being physically abusive as a boyfriend, his racist & misogynistic comments on Reddit, sexting minors on Kik, wishing death on a fellow soldier, cranking hog in a porta-potty, lying about his reason for enlisting in the military for the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, leaving the military to work for Blackwater, and being a communist, but SEXUAL ASSAULT is where I DRAW THE LINE."
Democrats waited until after the July 4th holiday to code red Platner. They did it with a full week left to force him out of the race. It’s diabolical how they are fine with erasing primaries & hand picking new “nominees” all while claiming Republicans will destroy democracy.
Grab those screenshots of your favorite Democrat influencers supporting Graham Platner of Maine before they delete them.
Please share them here…
I’ll start.
Graham Platner is one of the most ridiculous figures to arise in American politics in years. He is bright red like a strawberry with a ridiculous walrus mustache. He has a giant Nazi death’s head tattooed on his chest. He posted on Reddit claiming to have engaged in sex tourism and masturbated in portable toilets. He has multiple accusations of serious sexual misconduct and violence.
There are no memes about this man. There are no late night talk show hosts making jokes at his expense. Nobody portrays him on SNL.
Consider the way this utterly ridiculous Democratic figure has been treated by the comedy world compared to Republican figures like Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and JD Vance.
This is not harmless and this is not meaningless. Democrats have successfully incepted the idea into voters’ heads that Republicans are absurd, clownish and unqualified and the one-sided mockery in entertainment media has helped to spread this lie when the Democrats are actually a collection of hideous weirdos and circus freaks that media has somehow convinced you are normal.
We have to do a better job of making fun of them.
American Indians had already destroyed and burned so many trees by the 1500s that they would have faced total environmental collapse and a regression to savagery by the 1700s. North America would look like Australia, which was deforested by aboriginals burning down forests.
