A very entertaining & enlightening evening listening to @Billbrowder and @JamisonFire talking all things Putin, Russia and the wider Ukraine conflict
Both have written very good books on the subject that are well worth reading
Great venue as well in St Simon’s, Clerkenwell
.@Alexbrowder_ joined me on Frontline today to share how he - a 17 year old student- exposed Kremlin corruption through a cryptocurrency network used to evade western sanctions. Apple doesn’t fall far! @Billbrowder@GMJCampaign

*Recognise transnational repression, abusive lawfare, sanctions evasion and asset concealment*
Hostile states hunt dissidents on British soil and use our own courts to silence critics. @Billbrowder knows that better than most.
Our amendment makes clear: transnational repression and abusive lawfare are grounds for designation.
The bullshit biolabs conspiracy is back at the exact same time Candice Owen’s and Andrew Tate arrive in Moscow.
This is a coordinated disinformation damaging against Ukraine by the Kremlin.
Don’t fall for it
As the scandal over Rusal's Irish plant deepens, @Billbrowder's warning to me in 2022 about @LeoVaradkar meeting "a key oligarch enabler" looks more prescient by the day.

Honoured to be welcomed to No. 10 Downing Street today to speak at an event celebrating young British ambition.
Taking on illicit crypto finance has been an incredible journey so far.
Grateful for the opportunity to represent the next generation of British founders, and excited for what’s ahead.
Thank you for your courage, @Alexbrowder_. Your work has helped our shared cause of exposing Russian crimes and countering Russian aggression. Thanks to active and principled young people like you, we in Ukraine feel we are not alone. 🇺🇦🇬🇧
British high schooler Alexander Browder became the youngest known person to land on the Russian sanctions list after exposing alleged illegal money laundering through cryptocurrency. Russia added the 17-year-old to the sanctions list for “spreading disinformation,” which he denies.
“It's not disinformation at all. It's only the truth,” Browder told CBS News’ Leigh Kiniry. “Russia can add my name to whatever list it wants. It won't change the facts, and it won't change my work.”
#Fellas let's give the amazing @Alexbrowder_ a warm #NAFO welcome in recognition of being sanctioned by Moscow even though he is still in high school and only 17. This is the Way.
@Billbrowder you should be very proud of your son - getting an honorary #Fella is no small thing!
A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.
”Last year almost 500 000 Russian tourists were let into Europe, while Ukrainians were dying on the battlefield. This situation needs to be stopped.
That is why we, together with 10 other Member States, have put forward an initiative for new EU visa restrictions for Russian citizens.” @JohanForssell at JHA
Holy shit. You have to love combat nerds and forensic-finance SOF types.
While everyone else is arguing on X, these guys are building spreadsheets, tracking networks, following money trails, and connecting dots most people don’t even know exist.
I suspect he has data on absolutely everyone.
Legend
Listened to the incredible @cathynewman interview with Alex Browder. Not only can you not help being incredible impressed, but most strikingly Alex has that big belief that he can make things better, and that we can win. My gosh, we need more of that.
