@ElizWinkler Just finished your excellent book, it should have been longer! I can't help feeling that Oxford was the butt of the playwright's jokes rather than the author. To suggest the plays were written by someone who faked their own death requires proof.
@ElizWinkler’s interrogation of the Shakespeare authorship question is engrossing … and plain old fun. What a writer! This fab work of scholarship is, unexpectedly, a great summer read. #Shakespeare
Radical essay in @TheTLS questioning the dating of the Tempest, citing the work of @RStritmatter (an Oxfordian) & suggesting a “paradigm shift in the chronology of Sh’s dramatic composition”

@ElizWinkler@TheTLS@RStritmatter There is a rumour among the merchants that four ships, bound for Italy and for Venice in particular with cargoes of fish, had fallen into the hands of pirates. God grant it be not true. Contarini, 1610.
@ElizWinkler@TheTLS@RStritmatter The violent winds of these last days have caused great floods in the Low Countries, such as have not been seen for forty years. The city of Amsterdam has suffered greatly, for the streets were flooded and the warehouses too, and the merchandize ruined.

Here's the answer but nobody wants to throw their career away to support a plausible candidate. #cognitivedissonance
@LeonnaMayor@sagrassick@Twitter What a sad little man. There's no place for that attitude in modern racing, it's a far better sport since the rise of female jockeys, trainers and pundits! Ignore him! x
