NYC adventure from a native:

1. Take the ferry to Staten Island (read the whole thing before you crash out)

2. Get on the SIRR and take it to the old town station (15ish min ride)

3. Walk down the steps to old town road and make a left towards Hylan Blvd

4. Cross Hylan Blvd and enter Royal Crown Bakery & Cafe

This is, and I mean this genuinely, the single best lunch spot & bakery in all of NYC

5. If it’s daytime during the summer you will order any of these items:

Prosciutto, mozzarella, chicken cutlet, roasted red pepper sandwhich on a soft Italian hero with balsamic glaze

Pear salad with chicken cutlet on top

2 square slices of pizza

An iced tea with lemon Italian ice

And then 6 7-layer/rainbow cookies and 6 pinnoli cookies with a cappuccino

When you ask for the check you will also order 2 loaves of “chocolate bread”

This is a loaf of fresh Italian bread with homemade chocolate baked into it (look up Joey Diaz telling Joe Rogan about royal crown chocolate bread)
