@RugbyInsideLine Agreed on all counts. It won’t happen this side of the World Cup but Borthwick is not the man to get the best out of this England team. Lots of the issues on the field yesterday looked like coaching.

@DarthboerSA @rugby_ap JJ playing some lovely rugby. He’s so much more than a huge man and would walk into most teams. But, he won’t give you more than 30 - 40 minutes of total rugby before he tires. With the depth in SA rugby I can see why Rassie has reservations.

@Mylerdoo @PaulD259596 @GoodBadRugby From the academy. 8 years ago. I’m not sure that counts for anything against this South African side. Freeman is arguably one of only a tiny handful of world class players we have. But if it’s not your regular position, you’ll be exposed at this level.

@PaulD259596 @GoodBadRugby We’re just weak in depth at FB. I heard the quins coach on a podcast say ‘Marcus is our 10, he is not a 15’, then they signed furbank. It’s not exactly an endorsement for the guy to play 15 at international level. I actually think furbank could have transformed our attack.

@PaulD259596 @GoodBadRugby Freeman has played full back even less than he has centre. That would be a terrible idea against the best side in the world. Slade - I have no idea - he’d be out of position as well though. I’m not saying we have another great option to be fair. Pumping incoming.

@TightFive_Rugby That’s it, we really are fucked. Borthwick will go back to kicking high and chasing as is safe option. It changes all the prep and means the two most attacking sides in the prem - saints and bath - are under represented.

@rugbyontnt I actually think George Martin could be a very serious talent for England if he can stay fit. The guy is a beast. Sarries, in my opinion, have some serious fire power incoming next season with him, Alfie B and Tomas Williams at 9.

@Blencath007 @tomdabs I saw Freeman play at centre for saints quite a bit last season. He was nowhere near as potent as he is on the wing.

@jonboy_avfc @BathRugby @theTRUESPEED Honestly, I was pretty underwhelmed by Bath. They didn’t actually play that well, which i guess is the sign of a good team. My gut feeling is they’re not as good as the supporters think they are though. Sarries, Saints and Bath are all pretty even IMO.

@CherokeePR @TightFive_Rugby If he can get fit and firing, Furbank. He’s not word class IMHO though and I don’t see anybody else really staking a claim in his absence. Steward isn’t the answer for me.
