@claire_prouvost@reddog3411@BarrysTeaTweets @IDIIreland @claire_prouvost There is zero confusion over who this campaign is targeted at. It is for 'up and coming' 'talented artists' who can produce 'graphic design'. Suggesting it is 'Fan Art' from 'Hobbyists' is simply misleading and dishonest. The above are job titles - not hobbies.
@Vard@Aoife_Dooley@moleskine@BarrysTeaTweets If you really want to support the arts and creativity at a minimum people should be paid fairly for their work. The prospect of exposure for your talent shouldn’t been seen as a ‘just’ reward. For a leading Irish brand it’s unfortunate & unbecoming to say the least!
Seeing a lot of people I know entering a competition for a popular Irish brand to be in with a chance to get their work on a billboard. Just so you know, a job like that would cost thousands (yes) and they are looking for you to work for free - don’t be a fool/don’t be fooled
@Aoife_Dooley@moleskine@BarrysTeaTweets This campaign further promotes the idea of artists having to produce speculative work with the hope of achieving some 'exposure' as a measure of success.
@Aoife_Dooley@moleskine@BarrysTeaTweets Your PR team have demonstrated poor judgement creating this initiative and I would urge you to withdraw it or suffer reputation damage.
@Aoife_Dooley Couldn't agree more Aoife. @moleskine almost didn't recover from the backlash following their poor decision 2 create a competition 4 a new logo design. Clearly @BarrysTeaTweets have made the same misjudgement in creating a competition that exploits and devalues creatives 😠
@Aoife_Dooley@moleskine@BarrysTeaTweets Crowdsourcing free art from students and rising artists with the purpose of brand promotion is a tasteless and opportunist activity. Irish artists already have a hard time making a living due to a lack of design culture within Irish businesses
