Just build and figure it out. Tech, liberty & 🇺🇸 optimism. Eng @ NFLX 98-06, PINS 14-21. Into building teams, GPU go brr, F1, WEC, Ferrari, Rangers ⚾️, cats.
@RBPundit I have, and did! Decades ago on a Liberty Ship on the SF Bay. Weather was such that they did what they called their “low program.” Ripped *right* overhead as we were distracted elsewhere. Well rehearsed, well done, and absolutely freaking amazing. 😍🇺🇸
@wooster Similar deal here. BMI 22 has me at < 5% body fat. BMI 21? Impossible (sub-0%) without dropping lean mass, if my DEXA scans have been at all accurate.
Looking closely, appears he attempted to rack the slide (load it) while drawing, but didn’t pull it back enough, so no round chambers. Hence “click,” not “bang.” He actually racks it again, but loss prevention officer interrupts its completion *just* in time with his hand and saved the day. Heroic actions and reflexes! The punk *really* wanted to get shots off.
If you’re near Austin, The Range can likely set you up with a private lesson to figure out what’ll suit you best. It’s really personal. Something comfortable that you’ll train with and maintain is The Way. Ya gotta like it! Glock 19/26, Smith & Wesson Shield/M&P, Sig P365, Walther PDP are some popular contenders in 9mm. I switched over to Glock from the fancy pew pews; super simple and reliable. A red dot optic is a good call! Whatever you get, get lessons and practice often. Enjoy, it’s fun!
I get that that’s not on you from a general responsibility perspective, but I suspect few outside your industry will be sympathetic to your proposal given the current state of things. My suggestion (and all here is offered in good faith) was you may find more support if you help solve the larger problem people face. Unless someone reliably differentiates the legit from the illicit, folks will cheer everything they’ve not already vetted going into one big bin.
Even the volume of messaging from legit actors gets overwhelming and people need a way to manage it. (e.g.: This is a business line. I don’t want pollster messages to ping me on CarPlay while driving. I don’t want GOTV after I’ve voted. I want ballot problems to be verifiable and coming from known local authorities. Or maybe even: I just don’t want any of this now.)
Of course that’s not a problem unique to polling or GOTV (etc.), but if you want to advocate for increased personal access for that content, you’d probably get more traction if you include ideas for mechanisms that make it work better for folks. And for any form of those, you need mechanisms to establish that that message is legitimately in the set for special treatment.
@PatrickRuffini Love ya man, but if you want any support from folks, you’ll have to find ways to disambiguate legit polls from spam. I got 19 spam texts yesterday. All political. Some framed as polls (but clearly aren’t legit). All hard left (I’m not), many w/wrong state or name. It’s a scourge.
Look who popped outside just as I was showing off today’s paddock fit! Rocking the latest Jack Miller shirt with classic @texastornado5 gear … can finally fit in this shirt after buying it almost 20 years ago! #motogp
Looks like my foot was well and truly in my mouth on this one. Apple *does* provide a handy SMS filtering API, so you can write your own extension or use an app. I swear I searched, but my shame and apologies remain. I'm trying @afterxleep 's shiny Bouncer now; peace is in sight!
It’s three weeks since the election. I still get SMS spam from annoying progressives several times a day.
Apple refuses to provide meaningful filtering or antispam tools. Nothing stops it.
This has to stop.
@yacineMTB Parent of a preteen here, can confirm. YouTube and Roblox (argh) are basically the enemy. Parental controls and screen time management systems are also generally terrible. It’s unsurprisingly clear priorities are to capture kids’ attention (and cash) rather than to help parents.
Admiral: "We need to replace our fleet with three more carrier strike groups and fifteen guided missile destroyers."
Palmer: "No, we need to replace it in the aggregate."
Admiral: "The what?"
Palmer: "One carrier is a target. A thousand autonomous vessels are a nightmare."
