What an incredible weekend in Milwaukee, first celebrating Wheel & Sprocket's 50th anniversary then riding in Chris' Slow Roll. Chris Kegel was an absolute legend. So thankful I got to know him when he was the League's Board Chair and that his children continue his great work!💛
We were grateful to be able to participate in the 8th annual Chris's Slow Roll over the weekend with @WheelSprocket — what a joy to celebrate the life of a pillar of the bike community by riding together with the bike community! https://t.co/FkA3mXklZc
One reluctant exerciser found that ditching his car and walking or biking to the store was a boon for his mental and physical health: "I began seeking out new errands just for the exercise they would provide." https://t.co/WsmlZpcoGQ
It’s a big announcement for @USDOT today: new proposed rule making would make automatic emergency braking detection for pedestrians required on new cars. This is a good first step towards safer cars in a Safe System Approach. We hope to see AEB for people on bikes in the future.

We had a great #BikeToWorkDay ride alongside @USDOTFHWA Administrator Shailen Bhatt, @gabe_klein of the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, and Deputy Secretary of @USDOT Polly Trottenberg, all leaders who recognize the importance of making biking better for everyone.

Right now, a 20 mph speed limit exists in Neighborhood Slow Zones In NYC.
The fatality rate on streets with speed limits of 25+ mph is nearly 5x higher than these zones.
We need lower speed limits citywide. We need Albany to pass Sammy's Law this week.
