Let’s stop pretending Jesus was a culture warrior. He wasn’t campaigning to “take the nation back for God.” He wasn’t building a voting bloc or establishing a “moral majority.”
If He wanted political power, He would’ve run for office. Instead, He let Rome kill Him.
The mission of Jesus was never about controlling culture—it was about conquering death.
He didn’t come to manage sin through legislation. He came to crush it through crucifixion.
There’s an amazing contrast found between Genesis 11 (Tower of Babel) and Genesis 12 (The Call of Abraham).
In short, there are two ways of living:
1. Creating our own story and trying to build our own name.
2. Finding ourselves in God’s story and letting God name us.
You watch a preacher long enough, he will disappoint you.
You attend a church long enough, it will let you down in some way.
You serve in a ministry for some time, you will get hurt.
All of these are true but it does not mean you quit, get bitter or leave.
It does mean that you forgive, stay steadfast and focussed on Jesus.
Pray for your pastor.
Be faithful in your local church.
Serve others.
"God works through proximity. Keep your eyes open to who he puts in your path. The barista who knows your name. The coworker who lingers after a meeting. The neighbor you keep bumping into." Billy Phenix
A great marriage isn't built on the loud, over the top, instagram moments.
It's built on the boring, little, everyday moments that aren't picture perfect.
Practice love daily.
Even when it's not exciting.

A healthy church doesn’t compete with Netflix. It offers what Netflix can’t. Presence. Prayer. Peace. The people of God gathered together, not for consumption, but for communion - with Christ and with one another.
Before the water turned into wine, someone had to do the ordinary, tiresome task of filling the water pots.
We want the new wine to just appear, but Jesus calls us to fill the jars first.
In short, God often wants us to participate in our own transformation.
"The preaching of Christ is the whip that flogs the devil. The preaching of Christ is the thunderbolt, the sound of which makes all hell shake." @CharlesSpurgeon
“If religion is reduced to external regulations & observances, it is far too easy. It’s easier to abstain from certain foods and to wash in a certain way than to love the unlovable or help the needy at the cost of one’s time and money.”
Barclay, William. 2001. The Gospel of Matthew.
The bible doesn't end with souls ascending to a disembodied heaven. It ends with a fully embodied heaven descending to earth
The resurrection is the good news that God in Christ is committed to the renewal, reconciliation & resurrection of all things—and so should the Church be.
It's Friday.
The soldiers nail the Savior's hands to the cross. They nail the Savior's feet to the cross. They raise him up next to criminals. The earth trembles. The sky grows dark. The King yields his spirit.
It's Friday. But, Sunday's comin'.

If you go to the Bible for inspiration you will find it for a moment. If you go to the Bible to find Jesus, you will have inspiration for eternity. #Bible
In the 20th century (generally speaking), “Protestant Christians set out to make America Christian and ended up making Christianity American.”
- Stanley Hauerwas
If God never allowed you to experience need, people around you might never have the opportunity to witness God’s provision in the life of a Christian. #experiencinggod
