EXCLUSIVE: BlackRock-linked tokenization firm @Securitize has filed with federal regulators to go public via a merger with a SPAC, @carlosdomingo told @CNBC.
The deal values Securitize at $1.25 billion. 🧵
I continue to follow $IONQ, but I started a new position in $FGNX.
Brief thesis: I’m a believer in the mega trend of tokenizing financial assets that will take place over the next decade and I think ETH will be the main beneficiary.
Anyone’s guess what Company they could merge with, but I would look at company’s they’ve partnered with for potential candidates (Securitize, Anchorage Digital, Kraken). Maja also has a relationship with Tether (helped them buy a bank). $FGNX
Moving quickly to clean up the corporate structure. Didn’t see much issuance when the stock was above NAV (keeps more equity for existing holders). Consistent with what you would see before a business combination, imo. $FGNX
$FGNX to sell Quebec property ($10 million cash) and Reinsurance business ($3 million cash, $1.25 million note, retain 40% equity). This is on a $146 million market cap.

The merger piece is clearly speculative, but provides significant upside if I’m right. If they remain a standalone ETH treasury you get exposure to ETH at a discount and still benefit from the tokenization trend. $FGNX
Here’s how you know @MartinShkreli doesn’t follow $IONQ close enough to draw the right conclusion.
“But $IONQ uses ion trap technology. This requires lasers to keep ions in a chain. But adding exponentially more ions will be difficult for spacing and complexity reasons. The current vacuum chambers were not designed with thousands of qubits in mind, so, IonQ may have to completely rearchitect its approach. Ion traps are also extremely sensitive: it is hard to imagine scaling this from 100 to 1 million will be easy.”
IONQ’s plan to scale is through a modular architecture. Connect QPU’s through photonic interconnect. Don’t need to add more ions to the chain, just need more QPU’s. All to all connectivity.
It’s so off strategy for the core $HON business. They need to separate and become a pure play ASAP. By the time they go public $IONQ will have scooped up all the best targets.
I’m sure not all these deals will be winners L-T, but you get the talent, IP, and remove competitors while still affordable (and you’ve got your stock to use as currency). Doing these seems like a no brainer to me.
I just wish Quantinuum and IONQ would merge.
