Alright, I know as an admin you’re supposed to stay in character, but I’m going to tell you a story. Sod it.
I was born in Ipswich general hospital 10 days before Ipswich won the FA Cup final. The first game of football I ever saw was Town against Oxford in what was once called the first division.
And for many years I called myself an Ipswich fan, but that changed in 2007 when I fell in love with another club. Yes, I know you are not supposed to, but Ipswich represented the town I left, Union represented the one I chose to stay in and I’m happy with that.
I was at the last day at the Alte Försterei before the rebuild, as I was when it reopened against Hertha. I was there when we got promoted to the Bundesliga as I was there in the Bernebeu. I cried like a baby when Heisi won the top scorer trophy in the 2. Liga, but this weekend has come close to all of those. Even though we lost.
We don't all have to be friends, football needs enmity. But it is also about bringing people together.
Thank you to @IpswichTown . Thank you @fcunion . You have made at least one person very, very happy. Uppa Towen. Eisern! #fcunion
Following back-to-back promotions to the top tier of English football, today's result confirms our relegation from the Premier League.
We've fought all season with you always behind us, Town fans. 💙
